Press-Reviews:

Interesting Facts:
'Madonna' [also known as 'The First Album' outside of the US] got things started for Madonna, although she had already released 2 singles [Everybody and Burning Up] before recording the entire album.

Another track called 'Ain't No Big Deal' was supposed to be on the album but got replaced at the last minute with Holiday - good choice since Holiday was Madonna's breakthrough song! 'Ain't No Big Deal' got released later as the B-Side of Papa Don't Preach in 1986 and also appeared on a Sampler LP called Revenge Of The Killer B's.

Madonna herself co-wrote 5 out of the 8 songs included on the album - and she even played the 'cowbelle' [as refrenced in the album-credits] :-)

Madonna dedicated her first album 'Madonna' to her father.

Warner Bros. decided to release a remastered version of 'Madonna' in 2001 [just in time for her Drowned World Tour]. It included 2 dance mixes that previously were only available as B-Sides.
