Madonna's follow-up
video compilation to her hugely successful 1990
compilation The
Immaculate Collection was a product long-time
in the making with several announced release-dates
which were all pushed back again and again until
the DVD / VHS finally saw its release in November
1999.
Although many fans hoped for a complete retrospective
of Madonna's spectacular video archive it only featured
selected videos. While several videos such as This
Used To Be My Playground, Deeper
and Deeper, I'll
Remember and I
Want You were missing it was most sad to see
2 of Madonna's most controversial videos being omitted
from the collection: Justify
My Love and Erotica.
While both these x-rated videos were left out for
obvious reasons [to avoid a 'Parental Advisory'-sticker
on the front which usually means less sales] it
is still a mystery while some of the other videos
were not included. It is believed that they have
been kept in the Madonna vaults to bring them back
one day in a release containing all of her clips.
Only time will tell.
Still, this video collection is a brilliant compilation
and showcases some of Madonna's most spectacular
videos ever filmed. A must-have for every fan and
one of the best-selling video compilations by a
music artist ever! |
